Mirari Gin & Chocolate Masterclass & Distillery Tour
Step into a realm of artisanal excellence at Time Anchor Distillery in Kramerville, where the heritage of Johannesburg's first distillery intertwines with contemporary craftsmanship. Our Gin & Chocolate Pairing and Distillery Tour is your gateway to a world of flavour, tradition, and hands-on discovery.
Each session will last approximately 90 minutes and includes:
A Warm Welcome: Kickstart your adventure with a Perfect Serve Mirari G&T, a refreshing welcome as we gather to commence our journey.
Guided Gin Tasting: Explore the nuanced flavours of three Mirari Gins under the expertise of our knowledgeable hosts, each gin thoughtfully paired with on-site crafted artisanal chocolates.
Distillery Tour: Get a behind-the-scenes look at how our award winning range of Mirari gins are crafted.
Bottle Your Memory: Bottle, label, and seal a 50ml bottle of gin, a personalised keepsake to take home.
DESIGNATED DRIVERS :
Drivers will still have the opportunity to take part in our tasting and learn about all things gin while enjoying a non-alcoholic beverage. They will also get to bottle their own 50ml bottle of gin to take home and enjoy.
Additional Details:
- Doors open 15 minutes before the tour start time, early arrivals may not be accommodated
- Attendees must be 18 or over; this includes babies and young children.
- Smoking is strictly forbidden on-site, both indoors and outdoors.
Parking:
Secure off-street parking is available. However, utilising Uber or a similar taxi service is recommended. Drive safely and adhere to alcohol limits if driving to and from our distillery.
Cancellations:
Tour cancellations are refundable and amendable up to 14 days before the tour date. For bookings within 14 days of the tour date, tours are non-refundable.

My friend and I had a fantastic time at yesterday's Gin Tasting & Chocolate Pairing.
The distillery is currently beautifully decorated for the festive season and was absolutely spotless, no speck of dirt in site, plus the music that was played in the background was phenomenal.
The tasting itself was great, despite the fact that I'm not much of a gin lover myself. It was a very interesting and informative tasting, having experienced each gin in almost 3 different ways all through a simple garnish/chocolate addition. My personal favorite pairings were with the chocolate bonbons. The cheese platter was a great addition to our experience and highly recommended it. I loved all the fun tidbits that were shared along the way as well as the opportunity to "distill" our own small bottles of gin and label them ourselves (plus, she displays a variety of gins you can choose from for your little keepsake that caters to everyone's different tastes).
Our hostess was entertaining, charismatic and shared so many insightful stories and facts about the world of gin and her beautiful small business, such as their beautiful still that was made in Germany (a must see) or that her business ultimately with a dream and her husbands supportor that they are the only craft distillery in Johannesburg. She truly showcased her passion for her small business and the liquor industry itself - her knowledge and words throughout the tasting only emphasized her love for it all.
The team and herself were always open to answering questions where needed and were an absolute delight/pleasure to work with and ultimately contributed significantly to my fantastic experience at their gin tasting.
I highly recommend this experience to gin lovers and gin novices alike, simultaneously for groups, dates, celebratory events that you want a fun twist to or even as a solo date.
Not only is this experience so affordable, it was definitely the best gin tasting experience I have ever had.
The knowledge of the facilitator, the friendly staff and the aaaaammmmazingggggg gin made my birthday definitely memorable. Not only are you welcomed with a cocktail, you get to experience gin in a one of a kind way paired with the amazing crafted chocolates. But wait there is more. You get to bottle your own gin and experience the labeling process of this female owned and run Distillery #girlpower.
Im definitely doing this again again again again and again.
